About our irrigation work

Materials & techniques
We standardize on Hunter and Rain Bird for parts availability — MP rotators for turf under 30 ft throws, I-20 or 5000-series rotors for larger zones, and Netafim or Hunter Eco-Wrap inline drip for beds with 0.6 GPH emitters at 18 inches. Mainline is Schedule 40 PVC; laterals are Class 200. Every head sits on a swing joint to absorb mower impact. Wire is 12-gauge direct-burial with waterproof DBR/Y splices at every valve. Backflow is a double-check or PVB sized to the meter, tested annually by a certified BPAT. Smart controllers pull local ET data so run times adjust to the weather, not the calendar.

Do I need a licensed irrigator in San Antonio?
Yes. Texas requires a TCEQ Licensed Irrigator (LI) to install or repair any system connected to a potable water supply. Unlicensed work voids warranties, fails inspection, and can trigger SAWS fines. Every install and repair we run is signed off by an LI.
Will my install qualify for a SAWS rebate?
SAWS offers WaterSaver Coupons for converting spray heads to drip in beds, installing pressure-regulated rotary nozzles, and adding Wi-Fi controllers with flow sensors. We design installs to hit those thresholds and file the paperwork on your behalf when the rebate applies.
How do you handle Stage 2 and Stage 3 watering restrictions?
Controllers are programmed to your address's designated watering day and time window. Smart controllers with ET data and rain sensors are exempt from some restrictions — we set them up correctly so you stay compliant without manually reprogramming every drought stage.
Can you find a leak without tearing up the yard?
Most leaks we trace with a pressure test, valve isolation, and a 521 wire/valve locator. Mainline leaks under hardscape get acoustic listening gear before any cutting. We dig only where the leak is — not the whole zone.
How often should a system get serviced?
Twice a year — spring start-up to catch winter damage and recalibrate after dormancy, and fall tune-up before the first freeze. Heads sink, emitters clog, and seals fail. A 90-minute checkup beats a $400 water bill.
